On three occasions now, the Amerk Booster Club has invited different Rochester Ice Cats to participate in a dinner at
a local Fire Department to meet the Amerks. The first trip was at Quint 6 firehouse and involved Mike and Daniel McCullough,
Vicki and Timmy Rowland, and Coach Tom Simmons and Kevin. The Amerk players in attendance were Jeff Peters and Nathan
Paetsch. The second trip was to Quint #5 firehouse and Ryan Vaughn and RJ Wilkins joined Kevin Simmons and Daniel McCullough.
The Amerk players were Scott Ricci and Norm Milley. I'm not sure who had more fun on the fire trucks, the Ice Cats,
or the Amerks. The third trip allowed Josh and Keith Greer and Ben and Erik Weslowski to visit. They met with
Ryan Jorde and Michael Ryan.
The Ice Cats want to send a big THANKS to the Booster Club for sponsoring this event and allowing our team to mingle
with the big stars. Of course the trip to the fire house would have been exciting enough.
On January 19th, M J Kobryn, Mike DeBellis, Ben Streb, and Dan McCullough took their turn at the firehouse. They
ate dinner and got their pictures taken with Scott Ricci and Ryan Miller. If the opportunity arrises again, anyone else
would like to take a turn, contact Coach Tom for details.
